Cox’s Bazar and Tourism

Cox’s Bazar is an extraordinary discovery. Cox’s Bazar is a town, a fishing port and a district headquarters in Bangladesh. It is located at 21° 25' 0" North, 91° 59' 0" East and is bounded by Chittagong District on the north, Bay of Bengal in the south, Bandarban District on the east, and the Bay of Bengal on the west. It is known for its wide sandy beach which is the longest natural sea beach in the world.

It is an unbroken 125 km sandy beach. Cox’s Bazar has been recently ranked as one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the World’. The modern Cox’s Bazar gets its name from Captain Hiram Cox who died in 1799. It is one of the most attractive tourist spots in the world.

It has miles of golden sand, towering cliffs, surfing waves, beautiful and rare conch shells and delicious sea food. The sight of the setting-sun behind the waves of the sea is simply captivating. The sound of the ocean simply soothes your mind and takes the stress away for a while. This is why people all over Bangladesh visit often to get rid of their everyday suffering of life.
